My
educational and professional journey has been a creative
adventure.
I trained as
a medical technologist and worked in hospitals for over 20
years. It didn’t take much effort to see that we were failing
patient’s most basic needs – comfort and compassion. When the
door opened through my experience with therapeutic touch I
walked through it quite happily and began my ongoing study of
healing and consciousness development.
In 1993 I
began to study more holistic healing modalities including Jin
Shin Jyutsu, Craniosacral Therapy, and Zero Balancing. My
clients, however, asked for more – they wanted education. I
became certified as a holistic health educator in 2000 and went
on to complete a BA in the field in 2004. During those years I
built a successful body work practice which included consulting
on wellness. In addition I developed and presented workshops
throughout the northeast, including Chautauqua Institution,
Chautauqua, NY.
The
adventure, though, has come through family, friends, students,
clients, and experience which have all taught – and continue to
teach me so much more – lighting the path through their wisdom,
courage, and humor.
So the journey continues – accompanied by
people I have yet to meet, a newfound passion for art, and an
ever expanding awareness of where I might serve, what my place
is in the universe. You are invited to share
the adventure.
